Why Todd?
My goal on every project is to make my clients really happy they chose me! One reason they are, is because of my real photography experience. To be a good photographer, you have to be a keen observer of the natural world, and appreciate how light and shadow play with each other to create beauty. I believe there is no better training for creating impactful natural looking and feeling CG images, than a lifetime of photography. I share that experience with the team, bring alternative approaches to solving problems, and I like to think we all make each other better by combining diverse experiences.
A big part of my career has been Client facing customer service. As the owner of a small production company, I have always been in a client facing roll- that means I know how to build trust, and to be sure the client is happy; because a happy client, is a repeat client. I have experience as a Producer, so I understand the big picture, the financial constraints, working efficiently, deadlines, and making sure the client has confidence in what my team is creating, which means they don’t feel they need to be overly involved.
But let's be honest. In the end, people like to work with people they like. I'm that guy, even if you don’t like my Dad jokes. Not only do I get the job done with excellence, I'm nice to be around, I meet deadlines, I respect the workflow and the chain of command. I love my work and it shows in everything I do.
I love learning and solving new problems; so in the last 10 years, Institutions I have engaged included Gnomon School of Visual effects, FXphd, Digital Tutors, Pluralsight, Lynda, LinkedIn Learning, and private 1:1 tutors. Recent topics I enjoyed include: Maya, LookDev, Lighting, Rendering, Vray, VRED, Mental Ray, Matte Painting, Advanced Color Theory, Grading, Nuke, Fusion and Premier Pro.
I also graduated with honors from The Art Institute of Boston, Massachusetts.
I carry a drive with 1.3 TB of key-worded and indexed visual notes from my training, so I can quickly solve obscure problems, and share solutions with my team; so we can all skip the panic, and focus on what we love to do! If you're looking for a reliable team member, , I'd love to hear from you!”
